"Three Is The Magic Number"

Please, please, someone start this chant the next time Graham Poll refs a match in the Premiership. Even if it is just once.

"The Kings Of The Torn Betting Slips"

Tuesday, June 27, 2006
I don't usually agree with anything that Clive Tyldesley says during his football commentary (and why should I?), but with this sentence, he's described Spain's ever present, yet unfulfilled promise (youthful and otherwise) in a nutshell. I really thought that this time they would really go a long way, but once again it wasn't to be.

The Best Game Of The Tournament

A truly classic match. Obviously I'm talking about the Portugal - Holland match.

World Cup Stops Blogging

I'm simply too busy enjoying the World Cup (on BBC more than ITV I should add) to write about the bleedin' thing, so why not move and click over to Finals Fantasy, Simon, Ben and Skif's collective effort. It's really rather good. Alternatively, the Graunaid's coverage ain't bad either.

Normal service will return once yours truly has returned from Berlin in mid-July and everyone can focus on the latest "will he, won't he" pre-season transfer story. Michael, just say no.

Sven: The Coach, The Cash And His Lovers

Just what the (team) doctor ordered: a pointless, infantile "documentary" on Sven, five days before England kick off their World Cup campaign. It failed to tell us anything that the tabloids haven't already told us in graphic detail, and included interviews with Amanda Platell, Jeff Powell, Keith Allen and Ron Atkinson, all rent-a-quotes who, for respective reasons, shouldn't be never been allowed to comment on football. Ever. Well done Channel 4.
