Moolah

It's all about the money isn't it? Of course, everyone knew that bungs were rife in the professional game, but it was good to fianlly hear some names. Harry Redknapp wasn't a huge surprise; all those deals at West Ham in particular suddenly seem to make a whole lot more sense don't they? Wasn't it around 40 transfers during his time there?

I didn't expect to see Sam Allardyce's name up in big flashing neon lights though. He's the one to come off worst from Panorama's investigation, and his career will surely nosedive. He'll probably stay at Bolton, mainly because no other club will hopefully want to touch him with a bargepole, and he can almost certainly say farewell to a future position as England manager, a piece of news that almost makes the TV licence fee worthwhile.

The whole affair is pretty sickening though. It's certainly tarnished the "Beautiful Game" just that little bit more for me. After "Cashley", Mike Newell's allegations, George Graham a decade ago, Rio "bumping" into Peter Kenyon, Svennisgate and the rest isn't it about time the FA (or some other more capable body) were to take some serious action?

Unfortunately, I'm abroad this weekend, so I'll miss out on any potential hilarious interviews between Sam and/or Harry and the Beeb on Match Of The Day. Post a comment below at the weekend if it all kicks off. Ta.

Bungs and agent's dirty work is deep in the game all over the world. It's not just a Premier League or FA issue. The situation requires global action against this...

I think it's time for a completly new transfer system. Nowdays, every federation arround the world has the right to license agents...

I'm from Macedonia and our FA had many offers from foreign people to take bribe in order to make them licensed agents. They come here in Macedonia, take Macedonian citizenship (passport) and automaticly have the right to be licensed as UEFA/FIFA agents in Macedonia... Then, they have the right to work all over the world. Something seems wrong...
